ABOUT
The aim and ambition of this local music history project and website is to make a contribution to remembering, archiving and celebrating Leicesters rich music history.
We are conscious that as time passes memories and memorabilia from Leicester’s rich past will be lost for ever if not recorded, preserved and archived.
By providing a platform for local music history projects, signposting and commissioning new local music history projects, events and celebrating local music history with documentaries, exhibitions, books, and gigs.
A sister web site the Leicester Music Archive will house digital collections, memories and memorabilia thus creating a resource for music historians.
As it grows and others make further contributions future researchers will have a body of work and collections to access.
Most importantly it’s a narrative that needs to be highlighted, remembed and celebrated.
Please contribute to the archive and get in touch.
